Out of the mouths of babes...

I love it when kids come up with the darndest things to say. They pick up the lingo, and with their little kid voices, and the moments when they choose to use it, cracks me up!

Emily has been saying for a few months now, "That's a good idea". I have no idea where she got it. I nor my husband ever recall saying it. But she will come up to me and say, "Mom, I should get ice cream after my homework is done, that's a good idea!" or "I think I should get to sleep in brothers room because that's a good idea!" It is hilarious that everything that benefits HER is a "good idea"!

Her other comment lately has been "Don't even think about it!" She will be talking to her brother and say "You can't have my toy, don't even think about it!" or if Dad is teasing her "DAD (in her shrilly, high pitched voice), Don't even think about it!"

I use to love it when Austin was about 2-1/2 or 3 years old. He couldn't say the word "Pepsi". So he would walk around and ask for a drink of "Sepi". It was so cute in that little toddler voice we had to get him on video tape saying it so we wouldn't forget how it sounded.

Oh these good times will surely end when they hit teenage hood and instead of cute little sayings coming out of their mouths...it will be back talking and telling me their going out on dates!!! Ack!

XOXO

hilarious!

Connor's been doing the "good idea" one lately. So I will appreciate the humor in that one, espcially. Not ten minutes before reading your blog post, he came up to me and said, "I eat lunch. I have candy. That good idea mom?" LOL!! They catch on quick!
